First run of 2012!

Ring in the new year with a run this Wednesday morning for 5-something mile run for just over an hour through the trails of the Phoenix Mountain Preserve. We depart at 5:17 a.m. from the top of Squaw Peak Drive.

Runner of the week goes to Debbie Leftwich for running 104 miles this past weekend at the Across the Years 24-hour run, placing her 3rd woman, 5th overall. Also deserving special mention is Robert Andrulis for running 169 miles, and James Bonnett running 134 miles in the 72 hour event.

I think Danny Speros ran 100 miles at ATY for the first time! If I'm not mistaken he'd not been over a 50k before then! Stud!

Thanks Jeremy, yes, that was my first 100! I really enjoyed the run and had the pleasure of running with some pretty awesome people along the way. Not surprisingly, I'm a little sore and will miss WMRC tomorrow, but I'm looking forward to getting back to it. See you soon!

Congrats Danny on a great accomplishment. It is hard enough to run 100 miles but I think that format makes it tougher. Great job.
