Wednesday run - June. 13
We’re on for our fabulous Wednesday morning run in the
mountain preserve at the top of Squaw Peak Drive starting at 5:15 a.m.
Let’s give a big shout out to everyone who finished the San
Diego 100 mile run over the weekend. Jay
Danek who ran it in an awesome 22 hours.
And our runner-of-the-week, Mark Cosmas, who showed that sometimes less
is more. He hasn’t completed an ultra in
almost 2 years. Not run much more than
60 miles/week in training yet finished the San Diego 100 miler in an amazing 23
hours!
Show up for a WMRC run, and you can be as awesome as Jay and
Mark. Happy Trails!

Tomorrow is National Running Day. No excuses! Get to WMRC at 5:16am. I will be there and so will Blue Dog.
This weekend is the San Diego 100 mile endurance run. We have a lot of AZ/WMRC folks heading out to run. Jay Danek, Jon Roig, Michael Miller, Andrew Heard, Me, Dan Cagle and Lindsay from Sedona Running Co. This will be my first 100 in 3 years. I am trying something new with training. Every day I looked at Jay Danek's blog, whatever distance he ran, I cut that in half and ran that. Averaging 40 miles a week, peaking at 60 for one week. No races, pretty much all taper, If "less is more" was a city, i'd be the freaking mayor!
Come out tomorrow and celebrate National Running Day with us. 5:16am, top lot of SQ PK DR. 1;4 minutes, very easy pace.
