Major Recovery Run 2.17.10

What does “Major” mean? Hopefully extra slow!

Reminder: Tomorrow is Wednesday. Time for another group trail run the Phoenix Mountains Preserve. Meet 5:15 AM at the very top parking lot on Squaw Peak Drive north of Glendale / Lincoln. Plan on a little over one hour at a “major” slow pace.

WMRC runners covered a lot of ground this past weekend: Twin Peaks 50K / 50 mile; Pemberton 50 K and Lost Dutchman Marathon: First Ultra! : Runners of the week are Karen Heard (5:52) and Jason Klonoski 5:17) who both ran their first Ultra at the Pemberton 50K in the McDowell Mountain Park. Great job you two. Others who enjoyed and finished the run Joe Galope 4:34, Higgins 5:11, and Robert Andrulis 6:48. Other notable friendly faces at the event: Nick, Jamil and Jon working aid station 20 and 25. Tiffany working the start and finish area. Cheering the troops on: Andrew, Debbie, Aaron and Jeff McCoy. Thanks everyone!

The Traveling Team: Twin Peaks 50K and 50 Mile, Corona California. Congrats to Jody Chase (2nd woman, 1st masters) 6:18, Honey Albert 6:56 and Liz Everly 7:22. 11,000 Ft gain in the 50K ouch! Looking for more pain was Laura Nagy who completed the 50-mile in 14:49. Very Nice!!
