CCTM Recovery Run 2/3/10

Record crowd this weekend at Jody’s Cave Creek Trail Marathon. Its time for a little recovery. Reminder: we are on for a group trail run in the Phoenix Mountains Preserve tomorrow morning at 5:17 AM. Plan on a little over one hour at a SLOW pace. Meet at the same old place, top lot of Squaw Peak Drive. Rain or shine. Newcomers are always welcomed and encouraged to join in.

As noted, Sunday was Jody’s Cave Creek Trail Marathon. Pictures above. 26.4 miles, over 6,000 feet of gain, rugged, some water, 100% beautiful. Check out Cosmas’ GPS map / elevation profile of the day.

Runners of the Week: 1st place Women and 4th overall Paulette Zillmer. Great Job Paullette. At the end it looked like you could have done a double. Maybe next year!

Jamil Coury continues to Roll. Jamil and Art battled for the coveted first place with Jamil just edging Art at the end. So what does Jamil do for a follow-up? Runs the Rocky Raccoon 100 mile this weekend in Texas with his brother Nick. Good luck you two!!

48 runners started, 42 finished, Full Results here:

Check out some video from the event: The first one is submitted by Kopol the 11-year old dog running his first trail marathon. Congrats Kopol!!

Hi! I have lots of pictures that I took on the course of other runners in the beginning if anyone is interested. I came up from Tucson with my friend Dallas for the run and it was a blast! Thanks Jody! The course was marked so well.
I met so many nice people - what a great event.
