Hardrock 100 Taper Run 7.7.10

Reminder: Group trail run in the Phoenix Mountain Preserve tomorrow morning 5:15 AM. Meet at the very top lot of Squaw Peak Drive north of Glendale / Lincoln. Plan on a little over one hour at a slow to moderate pace.

Silverton, Telluride, Ouray, Lake City: 100 miles. 67,984 total elevation change. Average elevation of 11,186 ft. 6 times over 13,000 ft, High point 14,048 ft. Who would do this? Have fun everyone, stay safe and watch out for the poker table at mile 97 and the football player/ jack-o-lantern at mile 98. They tried to sabotage my race in 2008 but JJ saved me.

And for you pacers on that last few miles coming into Silverton when your boss keeps accusing you of walking in circles this is what you say "no we are not going in circles the Animas river is on our right, as long as we have the river on our right we are heading towards Silverton." Be calm and assertive and prepared to repeat because to the boss every new rock, tree, creek, trail marker..etc. looks exactly like the one you just passed.
