Hamster Taper Morning Run 5/19

Does the morning weather in Phoenix get any better than right now for a run? I think Not! Reminder: Group trail run in the Phoenix Mountains Preserve tomorrow morning 5:17 AM. Meet at the beautiful trailhead located at the end of Squaw Peak Drive. Plan on a little over one hour at a slow to moderate pace. It's so bright out in the morning now I guess many of you don't even need to set an alarm:>)A Big Runner of the Week Group: Congrats to Honey, Jody, Paulette, Debbie L, Kirk, Jon and Aaron who did a R2R2R last weekend. Sounds like all had a really fun time leap frogging and finished close together. 25 degrees at the top of the north rim. Brrrr

Hotfoot Hamster 12 Hour Run, this Friday night starting at 6pm! Join us in Buckeye at Nardini Manor for a gathering of friends to circle the 500 meter dirt track as many or few times as you would like. This fun run is a no fee, fixed time event. Laps will be recorded and posted throughout the run. More info at the Hotfoot Hamster Website.

Running Hope Through America w/ Lisa Batchen from April 19th to June 19th, 2010. Lisa Smith Batchen, one of the world's premier ultra-runners, will be the first person to attempt to run 50 miles in each of the 50 states. Though two people have previously run a marathon distance in each state, no one has ever taken on the challenge of completing an ultra in the same period of time. Lisa will be in Phoenix on Tuesday, June 8th. It would be cool to get a group out to support her. Jamil is planning to run with her for a least a couple of hours. The Phoenix route isn't posted yet but will be some sort of looped course. Check it out

Hope everyone had a great run. Sorry I had to hang back and turn around early. Work gets in the way sometimes, even at that hour. Yuck. Looks like Paul had a really good pace and route going. Love how he through in the "Bonnett Bump" right from the start. Nice job Paul. I think you a natural leader!!!

I'll be checking the website for more information about where to meet and post it here if I see it before someone else. Sure want to support Lisa on her venerable effort (already half-way done; move over Dean!). Can't wait to see many of you tonight at the mansion for 12 hours of fun!
