Back To School Morning Run 8.11.10

School is now in session! Time to hit the trails with new energy. Reminder: Group trail run tomorrow morning. 5:15 AM. Top parking lot squaw peak drive in the Phoenix Mountains Preserve. Group A Plan on a little over one hour at a slow to moderate pace. Group B join Higgy on a stroll with no apparent aim.

Is it possible that someone can win Runner of the Week four weeks in a row? Apparently yes. After completing the world's hardest 50K in Utah just 3 days prior, Cosmas competes in the prestigious Trail Runner Magazine's Treadmill Uphill Challenge. Cos held his own against the likes of Timmy Parr, Kurpicka, and Max King Finishing 18th overall!!....out of a field of 18... No photography was allowed so we hired a courtroom artist to give us a rendering. We didn't have much in the budget to pay anyone with actual experience. Went with a laid off cartoonist. Nice job Cos!!!

That illustration is spot on except that I don't wear tank tops or bucket hats. Other than that it is perfect. The TR uphill challenge was pretty tough, 15 minutes at a 10% grade to see who could go the furthest. In every race, someone has to get last and that someone was me.

Group B is called the B-Team in my neck of the woods. Let me know if you need any help keeping it alive.

This is such BS Crap how does the treadmill beat out my Sister Jody's performance last week? She ran 90 miles + 24K feet elevation gain + 3, P90X workouts and all above 9K feet. There's no tread mill that has a belt fast and/or steep enough to catch her.

I ran at the El Vaquero Loco 50K Saturday. It is a 5/5 on our Richter Scale. It is located south of the Tetons about 100 miles. The amount of energy for this one was like a 50M. I would reccomend this run to anyone who wants to challange themselves to a tough technical 50K. People were there who ran the Speedgoat said it was just as tough. I would not know as I did run run that run. Now off to play in the Tetons and Yellowstone. Donovan http://www.elvaqueroloco.blogspot.com/
