Heading out of Ouray!

Kirk just left Ouray with his Pacer Chris Latvaaho. Early on in the race heading into Telluride Kirk took a fall. Possible fractured thumb. Very swollen. Aid station in Ouray put a splint on it. As our on location reporter and photographer Art Bourque stated. Here comes the Pain Cave! 30 hours of racing left.
BTW reports are that Honey is running real strong. Jamil Coury is now pacing her from Ouray mile 43 to Grouse mile 58. Fun Fun Fun

The more I follow it, the more obsessed I become. WMRCers logged 260+M @ Hardrock this year, and should ALL hold their heads high! Can't wait to hear the war stories.

No doubt. Honey and Kirk have completed Hardrock before. They will always be a Hardrockers! There is a reason Hardrock is know to be the hardest 100 mile! It will never be easy. Great Job again Robert A. One tough cookie!Higg

I am completely and utterly impressed by all the WMRCers at Hardrock...always a source of inspiration. As my son says "you rock!" 260 miles total!! I kept thinking this weekend, when I get done with X (sleep, clean, run, work) Honey, Kirk, and Robert will still be running HR!!

Just stepping up to the line having trained for Hardrock impresses me. Way to go, Honey, Kirk, and Robert! - Laura

Congratulations to Robert! Not only does he always complete HR without a pacer or crew...he tells stories the whole way! ;) Nicely done, Robert.

Note that there is a $5 per vehicle fee at the Thumb Butte parking lot that goes to support the facilities there.

Thank you for recognizing the veterans. Sorry for being so out of touch and absent from the Arizona landscape so much. I'm injured, too, so not much of a runner right now. I'll be back though.

I'm a big fan of your Web site and would love to get out and run with you, but it does not work with my schedule. I'm an Active Duty Army guy out there at a lot of the races and will see many of you at the 24 Hour Run to the Future! See you soon. Thanks for the Veterans Day wish and good luck to everyone! I was working at the aid station today at Mad Dog 50K, maybe some of you were out there? Kat put on a great race!
